Update April 20, 2010:
Latest version of Floreant POS 1.0_3 RC** has added support for windows Printer driver. It automatically detects printers installed in the operating system and therefore installation is much easier. You can even use Desktop printer to print receipt. You can also use Java POS (cash drawer needs javapos) To setup printers you have to go to In Back office and set printers there.
**Ignore older version in Screenshot
In older configuration you must use Java POS.
- Receipt Printer
Java POS is what we find most handy. To use Java POS features, install Java POS and assign printer names. You need to check Java POS support for your vendor. EPSON is one of the most popular brand. We tested with following EPSON printers , they worked fine with EPSON JAVAPOS ADK. To configure you need to run SetupPOS.exe. This generates a jpos.xml . If you see Error, try copying jpos xml in same folder Floreant POS is running.
Tested Printer:
| Vendor | Model | Interface Type
| | | EPSON | TM T88iii | USB, Serial & Ethernet |
| EPSON
| TM88iv
| USB, Serial & Ethernet
|
- Kitchen Printer
It works in the same way but usually Ethernet connectivity is the preferred for sending printout in remote printer. Tested Printer:
| Vendor | Model | Interface
Type
| | | EPSON | TM
T220
| USB, Serial & Ethernet |
- Cash Drawer
We need to name the cash drawer as "CashDrawer" (its hard coded!). You should see final look of SetupPOS wizard that shows all the printers and Drawer. Most of the cash drawers kicks drawer on ESC control code and they are connected to one of the printers. In this case we tested with CR3000E cash drawer from Logic Control. Others should work same way just need to get sure which Pin is fired when Drawer is kicked.
Tested Cash Drawer | Vendor | Model | Interface Type
| | | Logic Control
| CR3000E | COM ( serial ) port connection to EPSON |
